Eventbrite Joins NIVA to Celebrate #SaveOurStages and Independent Venues in Washington D.C.

Eventbrite Joins NIVA in Washington D.C.

This Fall, Eventbrite partnered with the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to host an exclusive reception in Washington D.C. to thank members of Congress, including Senator Amy Klobuchar, Rep Dean Phillips, Rep Anthony Gonzalez, and others for their bipartisan leadership on the 2021 Save Our Stages Act – a lifeline to independent venues during the pandemic.

This invitation-only event honored the success of the Save Our Stages Act and the partners who have continually supported NIVA and the independent music industry.

More on the Save Our Stages Act

During December 2020, Eventbrite joined with our small business creators and partner, the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) to celebrate the landmark passage of a $15 billion grant program for independent venues, theaters, and cultural institutions modeled on the Save Our Stages Act.

Eventbrite Remains Committed to Supporting Independent Music

Eventbrite is proud to have helped support and amplify these efforts every step of the way since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the live events industry. Eventbrite sent letters to Congress and the White House urging more support for relief programs targeted at the independent venues and promoters who are at risk of closing their doors through no fault of their own. Eventbrite also mobilized creators and consumers on social media (including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram), and leveraged creator emails, the Eventbrite blog, and a #SaveOurStages banner on our homepage, driving more than 30,000 people to NIVA’s Take Action page to send a letter to their representatives.

Eventbrite’s inaugural RECONVENE Summit in 2021 featured NIVA Co-founder & Board President, Dayna Frank, who described how NIVA successfully fought for federal aid, and how the organization will serve venues going forward.
